What makes this particular instrument stand out is its factory-fitted or custom-installed MIDI system, featuring a built-in digital display for MIDI channel located in the upper horn – something extremely rare, especially on Fender basses from this period. The MIDI pickup brand is unknown and may well be a prototype or early development unit, possibly linked to Fender’s early MIDI experiments.

The bass is in very good condition with no repairs, breaks or damage. A label indicates it was originally sold in Australia, which adds to its documented provenance and rarity.
